Within some theological frameworks, particularly Pentecostalism and Charismatic Christianity, there exists a specific set of divinely granted abilities or endowments, typically enumerated as nine distinct manifestations. These manifestations are understood as empowerments given to individuals by the Holy Spirit for the edification of the church and the furtherance of its mission. Examples include, but are not limited to, the utterance gifts of prophecy, tongues, and interpretation of tongues; the revelation gifts of word of wisdom, word of knowledge, and discerning of spirits; and the power gifts of faith, healing, and working of miracles. These are considered tools for service, not personal merit badges.
